Compensation: $25/hour, 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
The Missouri Network for Opiate Reform and Recovery (MoNetwork) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Harm Reduction Navigator to join our team. This full-time, in-office role focuses on peer support to individuals affected by substance use. The Harm Reduction Navigator will play a key role in providing direct support, education, and resources to people who use drugs (PWUD), fostering connections to harm reduction services and evidence-based treatment options.
Key Responsibilities:
Priority Duties: Meet all participant needs and build strong, trusting relationships to foster connection and support within the community.
Harm Reduction Services: Distribute naloxone, wound care kits, fentanyl test strips, and other supplies while providing education on their use.
Education: Conduct one-on-one and group sessions on overdose prevention, safer use practices, and harm reduction strategies.
Linkage to Care: Assist clients in accessing evidence-based substance use treatment (SUD), including MOUD programs, healthcare services, and social support resources.
Basic Office Duties: Perform routine administrative tasks, including maintaining records, stocking supplies, and managing inventory.
Facilities Maintenance: Take out trash, clean bathrooms, and ensure the workspace remains clean and welcoming.
Data and Reporting: Document services provided, track client progress, and assist in compiling quarterly reports for program evaluation.
Community Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community partners to strengthen the network of care.
Culturally Competent Care: Provide services in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner, respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of clients.
Qualifications:
Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
Lived experience with substance use and/or recovery is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of harm reduction principles and practices.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
Familiarity with local resources for substance use treatment, healthcare, and social services.
Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
Work Environment:
This position is in-office and requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. The role involves direct interaction with clients, community outreach activities, and occasional travel to local partner sites.
