Part-Time Peer Employment Specialist

The St. Louis Empowerment Center (STLEC) is a recovery drop-in center for people who have lived experience with behavioral health issues. The Empowerment Center serves to provide a peer-based supportive community that builds hope and encourages healthy behaviors for individuals searching for recovery or maintaining recovery.

A program of the St. Louis Empowerment Center, the Recovery Community Center (RCC) provides peer-based recovery support services to individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). We seek to specifically serve individuals who have lived experience with opioid use disorders (OUDs).

• The Peer Employment Specialist will be a support for participants to attain their employment goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

o Assisting peers with email accounts
o Assisting peers with resume writing
o Assisting peers with internet job searches
o Assisting peers with felony backgrounds
o Assisting peers with interview skills
o Cultivate connections with potential employers
o Facilitate employment-related group meetings

Location: St. Louis, MO




o Certified Peer Specialist (SUD/OUD or co-occurring/lived experience preferred)
o Experience delivering employment related services
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o Familiarity with a strengths-based perspective
o Familiarity with the recovery model
