Sr. Counselor

Salary: $35,000 to $45,000

Job Description: SUMMARY:
Senior Counselor will provide clinical components of extended residential care using American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria at Alcoholic Rehabilitation Community Home (ARCH). Coordination will include training of counselors and provision of clinical services to ARCH clients. Senior Counselor will be expected to fulfill on call duties based on schedule provided by Executive Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of prevailing clinical concepts of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), rehabilitation and equivalent life experiences. Professional license or Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or certification by Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA), Inc. Clinical experience required. Basic knowledge of Quality Improvement procedures in Level III.1 extended residential setting.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, oral and written.
Able to work cooperatively with clients, staff and community.
Maintain confidentiality.
Must have regular attendance following schedule provided by Executive Director.
Ability to manage cases effectively with social service agencies.
Assist Executive Director with Utilization Reviews and File Audits (QA).
Coordinate clinical activities (i.e. Tx Plans, Group, Ind. Counseling, etc.)
Assist with training of clinical staff.
Coordinate and collaborate with outside providers to assure program needs are met.
Collaborate with Executive Director for necessary changes of ARCH policies/procedures.
Retain licensure or IAODAPCA certification.
Provide supervision as needed to counselors and counselor aides.

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage in on-going education in accordance with established policies and procedures. Complete orientation program. Follow on-call schedule including covering un-covered shifts without additional compensation. Perform other duties as determined by Executive Director.

Accountable to ARCH Executive Director
