Job Description: OMNI has been retained by FosterAdopt Connect in the search and selection for Trauma Informed Clinicians. This position provides an advanced level of clinical knowledge and leadership within the Trauma Informed Care Initiative and interdisciplinary team within the brand new Clinical Services Program.
Based in Independence, Missouri, FosterAdopt Connect works with children, youth, and families as they navigate the complexities of the child welfare system. Their mission is to provide foster and adoptive children a stable, loving and nurturing family environment by support and advocacy for abused and neglected children and the families caring for them.
Provide supportive, trauma-informed clinical consultation to FosterAdopt Connect staff to support socio-emotional needs of students.
Effectively collaborate with FosterAdopt Connect staff, families, and community partners to support the overall well-being of the students.
Provide in-home and/or outpatient therapeutic support to youth and families, supporting the behavior interventionists and treatment team, consulting on trauma sensitive strategies and interventions that promote success and empowerment.
Identify areas for self-improvement, pursue necessary education/training resources, stay abreast of current research, and share knowledge with others.
Assist in the development of trauma informed materials and curriculum.
Provides service in a manner that is trauma informed and appropriate for the youth’s age; demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to meet the youth’s physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
Collaborate with FosterAdopt Connect and community-based treatment team to provide referrals to social service agencies for students and families.
Provide therapeutic coaching, guidance, and coordinating care as a member of the Treatment Team.
Facilitate staff professional development regarding trauma informed care, suicide prevention, risk screenings, substance prevention, bullying and other behavioral health related topics to support the FosterAdopt Connect staff, youth, and families.
Provide brief crisis intervention, risk assessment, short-term stabilization services, safety planning, and coordination of additional mental health services as deemed appropriate.
Provide Trauma-Informed treatment/support based upon sound theoretical principles, with knowledge of the special issues and needs of the population served.
Provide person-centered services/treatment involving support systems identified by youth to increase family participation and understanding to promote safety and trustworthiness.
Provide evidenced, strengths-based, and culturally-responsive clinical interventions, and conflict resolution and to youth and their families.
Location: Independence, MO
Requirements: Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy or closely related field.
Licensed in MO and/or KS or be willing to complete licensure within 3 months of hire.
3+ years experience working with youth and families with a high prevalence of trauma.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment/treatment, psychiatric terminology, and latest research related to understanding and treating individuals with trauma.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, as is the ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Previous experience in working within social service systems and/or local, state social service agencies.
Ability to demonstrate good independent judgment, adapt to new duties and work in a changing environment.
