July 2023 MARS Program Application

July 28 – November 9, 2023
This program will start July 28, 2023, and will be completed November 9, 2023.
The total cost of the program is $100. Once the program starts, no refunds will be made for any reason.

Peer Supervision Training

This free training is strongly recommended for anyone who is currently supervising or will be supervising a CPS in the future. It covers the procedure for an individual to become a peer through the MCB, as well as some important basics on supervising peers, such as how to bill for peer services, create a job description for a peer, and what services a peer can and should provide. This is a self-guided course, and after you register, you will have access to the online course. You will watch four videos and answer questions for each one, in addition to reading ten documents and completing the attached quizzes. When you have finished the quizzes and submitted the evaluation, you will be given a certificate of completion valid for 6 contact hours.

Advanced Peer Supervision Training

This is a new training that MCB will be providing in partnership with the Addition Technology Transfer Center Network.  The 2-day experience begins the process of raising or enhancing your awareness and understanding of your role when supervising a peer.  The sessions will cover: How to integrate peers into a multidisciplinary team, person centered recovery planning, effective supervision of peers, supporting effective documentation of peer services, ethics and boundaries, self-care and wellness for supervisors…and more. 

Advanced Peer Supervision will be provided in virtual format (Zoom) and also in person, one time in 2023 in the following cities:  Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield area.  When you register, please ensure you select the correct training format and location that you want to attend.

Missouri Recovery Support Specialist Training

Description: The purpose of the Missouri Recovery Support Specialist Training is to train and credential qualified participants to work as staff and/or volunteers with people with a behavioral health disorder.  You will receive 24 contact hours.

Clinical Supervision Training

This training is now open to anyone however MCB supervision numbers will only be assigned at the end of the training to those holding one of the following: CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D, RADC, RADC-P, SQP/SQP-R, LPC, LCSW, LMFT or Licensed Psychologist

Harm Reduction Specialist (HRS) Training

Objectives of the Missouri Credentialing Board’s Harm Reduction Certification:

  • Increase knowledge around Harm Reduction and how it can be used in recovery processes
  • Apply skills within a harm reduction framework to current practice
  • Feel comfortable having conversations around harm reduction with clients and the community
  • Identify obstacles in applying harm reduction and develop strategies to overcome these obstacles
  • Learn to engage people who are continuing to use substances into harm reduction recovery practices
  • Build the foundation for clinical and non-clinical communication around harm reduction strategies
