The webinar will focus on how to better engage with youth, young adults, their families, and supports. Attendees will gain a foundation of the roles of a peer and understand how peer roles are different from other traditional support methods. Attendees will be introduced to LifeLaunch, a resource developed to help youth and young adults navigate the transition to adulthood, the importance of lived experience in early psychosis care, and why some young people are more vulnerable to the effects of substance use and mental illness than others. In an effort to transcend institutions and systems, this workshop, delivered by members of Missouri’s Early Psychosis Care Center team is open to all peer supporters, not just those with the title “peer specialist.” This training will count as 3 CEU hours.
