Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and behavioral health strategies.
• Implement crisis intervention protocols to support clients experiencing acute psychological distress or relapse episodes.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records using ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10).
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, and community agencies to coordinate care and facilitate seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
• Valid certification as a Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC) or equivalent credential.
• Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management techniques.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA compliance requirements.
• Experience working with diverse populations in home & community care environments or hospital settings is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct intake assessments, patient care planning, and case management effectively.

Requirements:  • Active CRADC,CRAADC, and CADC certification
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred
• Experience in behavioral health or addiction services preferred
